      • WHY EARLY LEARNING?

      • Research has shown that children enrolled in early learning programs benefit by receiving formal education and learn how to behave in groups, have higher IQ scores & ability to independently analyse and think. Their ability to absorb information was also a lot quicker than those who directly attended kindergarten .

Most researches claim that young children Learn best when..

•They are not pushed too hard

•High level of interaction with peers

        •Individualized attention

        •Short instructional activities

•Play based learning is given importance

Children taught at an early age usually benefit in the following ways: improved social skills, less or no need for special education instruction during subsequent school years, better grades, and enhanced attention spans. Likewise, some researchers have concluded that young children enrolled in pre-school programs usually graduate from high school, attend college, have fewer behavioural problems, and do not become involved with crime in their adolescent and young adult years.

Childrenin early years are curious learners. It is our responsibility to create learning experiences and environments that tap into that natural curiosity. This includes not only supporting emerging skills in reading, math, science, and social studies, but also, the 21st century skills:criticalthinking, team work, communication, creativity, technology literacy, and social-emotional development. Children need to begin to develop the early foundational skills that will help them reason, think creatively, analysedata, and work collaboratively

      • What should you look for when selecting an

        Early Learning Center?

      • For many parents, the most confusing part about choosing preschools is trying to make sense of terms such as, "Montessori Approach," "child-centered" "Waldorf Approach" and "faith-based." What do these terms mean and how can these terms help you choose a preschool? Oftentimes, the key difference between settings is connected to the preschool's "educational philosophy."

      • The Traditional Method

Focuses on maintaining the individuality of each child in the learning process. This method believes each child learns at their own pace and educational progress should not be rendered based upon comparing students to one another. Hands-on learning and collaborative play is encouraged .

        Child- Centred Learning

This takes the children's interests into consideration when planning activities. For example: the classroom activities are based on the interests of the students, not on pre-scheduled topics chosen by the teacher. These settings often offer increased opportunities for children to choose activities throughout the day depending on their interests.

      • At FINNISH PRESCHOOL we adopt a hybrid technique, where selected activities are based on the traditional techniques of learning and to ensure engagement a student centred approach is also used at times. This enables us to provide personalized learning to all our students. We believe that children have multiple talents and interests which needs to be harnessed, whilst at the same time being able to prepare them to fit in to the traditional school system. Our Student centred learning approach is a modelwhere students are at the centre of the educational process. Unlike the traditional education model where a teacher lectures from the front of the classroom, student centred learning is focused around inspiring students to direct their own learning
